Dustin’s Priorities
Committed, Disciplined Leadership
Currently serving a second term on the Providence Village Planning and Zoning commission, I am well versed in state code and Town policies. I have demonstrated my commitment by 100% attendance at P&Z meetings and will do the same as a Council member. I will be proactive in understanding the issues on the agenda and believe Council members must do more than just read the packet, but also understand the bigger picture of what is happening in surrounding communities and government overreach that may impact our Town.
Transparent Town government with a strong ethics policy
I will call for improved transparency by requesting that the Town Council meeting agenda be posted a week prior to the meeting with all available non-confidential documents that are shared with Town Council members, giving residents a complete picture of what will be discussed. I also support utilizing TML training to ensure all Council members and other Board members have up-to-date knowledge of state law, rules and regulations.
Neighborhood Integrity Rental Property Registration Program
Ensuring that Providence Village remains a community where we can safely raise our families and protect our property values is my top priority. While Denton County’s growth is among the top in the country, we must take proactive steps to ensure that developers, investors and government do not have a bigger say in our Town than the residents who live here.
Continuous focus and improvement of Public Safety
Providence Village contracts with the City of Aubrey to provide Police and Fire/EMS to our residents. As a prior EMT, I believe that investment in these areas is critical to the continued safety of our residents. To support our Neighborhood Watch program, I believe more events and outreach opportunities are necessary to educate and build relationships with each other.
